Our commercial Thoroughbred boarding facility in Lexington, Kentucky, provides a safe and comfortable space for equines. With three barns and well-maintained paddocks of various sizes, Cobra Farm can accommodate horses with different needs. Our daily turnouts ensure they have the opportunity to graze and socialize with other horses, and we bring them back to their stalls at prescribed times based on seasonal considerations.
Meticulous Care During Foaling
We have 24-hour security, foal watch, and night watch to ensure mares are looked after, especially as they approach foaling. Mike Owens, our farm manager, makes sure to be at each foaling. With stallions nearby, we can work with owners to select the best stallion for their mare and get them back in foal as quickly and safely as possible.
Equine Layup and Rehabilitation
Our management and employees are knowledgeable in layups and carefully follow instructions prescribed by the Thoroughbred’s individual veterinarian. We hand-walk horses and have round pens and small paddocks for limited physical activity during recuperation. Moreover, we use an exerciser to help strengthen and build back muscle so they’re ready to go back to the track.
