Gary and Betty Biszantz, Owners
Gary and Betty Biszantz bought Cobra Farm, Inc in 1995. Biszantz was one of the principal founders of Cobra Golf and served as Chairman of the Board and a Director of the Company for 20 years. Together, Gary and Betty have campaigned horses to a 20% win ratio and raced and won in five different countries.
Gary and Betty have a passion for horse care, land preservation, and sports. They have made Lexington, KY their home for over 15 years.

A Contributor to Many Organizations
Committed to improving racing, Biszantz served four years as Chairman of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA). In 1999, he was elected into membership by the Jockey Club. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Breeders’ Cup, KTA-KTOB, and The Fayette Alliance. He is also a former Director of the Thoroughbred Owners of California (TOC). Biszantz founded Tranquility Farm as a Thoroughbred retirement and rehabilitation center in California.
Mike Owens, Farm Manager
Mike Owens has been with the Biszantzs practically since the inception of Cobra Farm. His dedication and expertise were recognized when he was awarded Farm Manager of the Year by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers Club in 1999. He previously served as the club president in 1997.
Mike bred and raised Sinister Minister, who ran in the Kentucky Derby and became a successful stallion in Japan. He has a passion for foaling and attends every foaling each year. He has served as an instructor for several interns in the Kentucky Equine Management Internship program and was also a director. He and his wife, Robin, have been successful at pinhooking weanlings to yearlings for the past several years.

Mary Richards, Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper
For over 35 years Mary has been a dedicated member of Mr. Biszantz’s team. She initially worked at Cobra Golf before transitioning to a full-time role at Cobra Farm, Inc in 1997. Mary moved to Kentucky in 2004.
